imageSaturday, April 15 marks ten years since two brothers set off homemade explosive devices by the Boston Marathon finish line, killing three people and injuring hundreds.In that moment, Boston and the surrounding region were forever changed.While there was nothing they could do to reverse the events of that heartbreaking day, the Red Sox immediately took it upon themselves to heal the city in the ways they could: philanthropy and baseball.They’ll continue both this weekend, when they return home to Fenway Park for a four-game series with the Los Angeles Angels that begins Friday night.But of course, this quartet of contests will be so much bigger than baseball.The schedule is jam-packed with events, ceremonies, and special guests.Stock up on tissues and waterproof makeup now.Here’s the schedule and everything you need to know about the weekend’s and Monday’s events: Friday, April 14 9 AM: The Red Sox and JetBlue Park have teamed up to donate over 40,000 Red Sox City Connect baseball hats to 104 Boston public elementary and middle schools’ students and staff.

Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez, team president & CEO Sam Kennedy, and Red Sox partner and foundation board member, Linda Henry, will join Mayor Michelle Wu at James F.Condon School in South Boston to kick off the annual donation, which began in 2017.The City Connect line, which the Red Sox debuted in 2021, honors the Boston Marathon’s iconic yellow and blue color-way.7:10 PM – Play ball.

It’s also Jackie Robinson Day around Major League Baseball, commemorating the 76th anniversary of Robinson breaking the color barrier.The Red Sox and every other team will wear the customary No.42 jerseys.

2:30 PM – A One Boston Day marker and new commemorative finish line will be unveiled on Boylston Street.Members of the 2013 team will be in attendance for the unveiling and ringing of the bells, along with first responders, local running groups, and city and state officials.

3:30 PM – Fans attending Saturday’s game are asked to be in their seats by 3:30 PM for the special pre-game ceremonies, which will focus on One Boston Day and Jackie Robinson Day.4:10 PM – Play ball.(RHP Nick Pivetta vs.LHP Tyler Anderson) Sunday, April 16 1 PM – The 2013 championship team will reunite during pre-game ceremonies, and Zac Brown Band will perform the National Anthem.
