I have a little something for today, something a little different from previous posts. Did you know that some of these
Hollywood films were shot in Indonesia? From the famous Eat, Pray, Love to Anacondas they were all shot in Indonesia!

1. Eat, Pray, Love. (2010)
This biographical rom-com starring Julia Roberts and Javier Bardem is about a woman named Elizabeth Gilbert
who stepped out of her comfort zone to find true pleasure of eating in Italy, praying in India and ended up finding
inner peace and unexpected love in Indonesia.

The scene was filmed in Bali, to be exact Ubud and Padang-Padang
beach. This remained one of the most well-known international films to be shot in Indonesia.

com 2. King Kong (2005)
This was one of the first films to be shot in Indonesia, some even say that it was the start of Indonesia’s name
being recognised by international film industry. Peter Johnson’s crew flied all the way to Mursala island, South Tapanuli,
North Sumatra to film this masterpiece that won three Academy awards.

Java Heat (2013)
The only film on this list that’s not only shot in Indonesia, but also had Indonesian actors taking parts in the film.
Java Heat, was filmed in Indonesia, the climax scene being filmed in Borobudur Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in
the world and is in the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.

Anacondas: The Hunt of Blood Orchid (2004)
I’m sure all of us are familiar with this one chilling adventure horror film.

The story is about a team of researches from
New York who went on an expedition to find an extremely rare flower for which they believe can extend humans life to the other side of the globe that is Southeast Asian tropical island of Borneo – Indonesia , but later hunted by anacondas
inhabiting the island. This film was shot in mangrove forest in Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Blackhat (2015)
Starring big names such as Viola Davis and Chris Hemsworth, this film was filmed in Jakarta, the Capital of Indonesia
which have quite an important role in the plot of this film. The scenes were shot in several places such as National
Monument in Central Jakarta , Tanah Abang and Sunda Kelapa.
