대한항공-아시아나 결합 승인…”10년간 26개 국제선 내놔야”

The South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has approved the merger of Korean Air and Asiana Airlines, the two largest airlines in South Korea. The merger is expected to create a new airline that will be the third largest in the world measured by revenue passenger kilometers.

The ministry has set a condition for the merger to be completed: the new airline must operate a minimum of 26 international routes for the next ten years. This is to ensure that the new airline will not have a monopoly on the domestic market.

The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2021. The new airline is expected to have a fleet of around 200 aircraft and serve more than 100 destinations around the world. It is estimated that the new airline will have an annual revenue of around $9 billion.

The merger is expected to help the Korean aviation industry become more competitive in the global market. It is also expected to bring more tourists to South Korea and boost the country’s economy. The new airline will also be able to offer more competitive prices to customers.

The merger has been welcomed by the Korean public, with many expressing their hopes that the new airline will be able to provide better services and better prices. The merger is also expected to create more jobs in the aviation industry.
